Good roleplay is better than good stats. When our rulebooks dedicate hundreds of pages to combat charts, weapon modifiers, and spell slots, it’s easy to accidentally train our players to be murder hobos. In this video, we break down three actionable ways to reward rich roleplay without breaking game balance. We dive into how in-the-moment narrative bonuses reinforce player creativity, how to use meta-currencies (like Inspiration or Bennies) for delayed roleplay investments, and how befriending minor NPCs can completely reshape a campaign’s climax—from talking our way past cave trolls in a real LARP cave to calling in Mandalorian fleets for a final boss fight.
